FOLKFEST 2006 - THE FEEDBACK
Thanks for having me at the festival. I had a fantastic time. There
was a great atmosphere. Hope Sunday went well too. I would have
liked to have seen more of the acts if I’d had time. Everyone I met
was really nice and overall I got the most positive response I’ve
ever had so I feel really happy!

Just a quick message to say thank you for letting us get involved in Folkfest. We cracked on and got set up on time and the two young sound engineers were fabulous and very helpful, they even enjoyed what we were playing which is always a bonus for us and them alike. The Frome guys were very friendly and helpful and even stayed to hear our set. The set seemed to go down a treat and we made more in album sales than we’d spent getting there which is the mark of a good gig for us! We’re really keen to support the festival again next year and encourage others to do the same. Let us know as soon as you start organising the next one! Hope the rest of the festival was as successful as the Royal Clarence was for us and I hope yesterday’s folk in the park was sunny and well attended. If there’s a way of buying a t-shirt I’d like to as it’s good kudos to say I played at the first Burnham-on-Sea Folkfest!

We very much enjoyed playing at Burham folkfest so a big thank you to you. We’ll keep the first weekend of September free so we can play next
year if you would like us too!!!!! I’m glad that you guys will be getting
better support for the fest. Keep me updated and I’ll be in touch.
Cheers.

I thought the organisation of the festival was superb. The technicians were
fab and what a luxury to have a PA set up and ready to go in each venue,
fantastic! I would love to play Burnham Fest. again so please keep in touch and please
give me details of your magazine, web site, or mailings etc.
(Georgiana Neilson-Toy from Scholion)
Congratulations to everyone on the organisation of the Folkfest and thanks for the slots. I hope Sunday went well too.

I really enjoyed it, and the audience was lovely. I got a brilliant response, so that’s excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed Burnham-On-Sea, I had an excellent time and thought the festival was great fun I would most definitely love to come back and play for you lovely people again. Thanks for inviting me! Take care,
stay in touch.

I’m really glad the festival was a success. People at the Vic certainly seemed to be having a good time… And I really enjoyed playing my set - despite my laptop going into hibernation mode 1/2 way through! Steve seemed pleased with the sound - and what a treat it was to have him there!
(Janey Summer)
From my point of view I enjoyed it and it was good to be a part of it. You all did a fantastic job putting it together - people often don’t realise how much work goes into these things….it was well organised and generally seemed to go pretty smoothly to me. It’ll grow and get better and better I’m sure. We spent the rest of the evening wandering around the venues having a few beers and catching some great music here and there. Please keep me posted about Folkfest 2007. Will definitely stay in touch….

We really enjoyed the gig. Sometimes you don’t get a good response to original material in a pub, but the crowd there were excellent. I am glad the whole festival was a success.
(Dan Russell from Pacific Groove)
Had a lovely day,did try to play at every venue but afraid I missed out on the last 2.
Once again thank you and hope to see you soon.
(Gary French)
Glad I could help and that your hard efforts have done you proud.

We all had a good time on Saturday and I’m glad the overall event was well received. The guy on the sound desk (sorry,
I didn’t get his name) was really helpful, which was appreciated. I know
how difficult it is to sort out sound quickly and efficiently when you have
several short acts in a row.
(Mike Adrian from the Open Door Acoustic Club)
We had a completely fab time, especially me,
although that might have been due to the vast amount of alcohol I consumed!
Please thank everyone who worked so hard to make it happen. sal xx
(Sally Pritchard)
It was a pleasure playing at the festival and I hope to do that and more again in the future. I also got a great bit of film footage for my CV.
(Mountain Jack Morgan from Mystery Train)
We all had a really good day on Sunday, the band as well. We were surprised at the brilliant reception we had from the audience, who seemed really appreciative. I’m glad that your first festival went so well.

Thanks for the kind words you silver tongued devil……the pleasure was all mine…thanks for the invite……….glad the day went well for you after all the effort you put in………hauling round the town on the days, everybody I spoke to was really enthusiastic………..and they we’re all smiling (nothing to do with the booze I suppose)……..and you can’t ask for a better result than that I don’t think…..it was good to catch up with yourself (albeit briefly) and the other Burnhamites………..I’ve good memories of the weekend and I thank you for that as well………..take care old son……..give my regards to Dave Chave and everybody, be lucky,
RTB (Ron Trueman-Border)
Thank you from the Langport Mummers for inviting us to your exquisite folk festival in the park - we thought the event and the audience quite wonderful and enjoyed performing for you. We hope you were pleased. Thanks for the contribution towards petrol, we came in four cars so that was appreciated. We all loved coming to Burnham (some of us for the FIRST TIME! - quite outrageous we haven’t been before). Well done, hope you can have a bit of a rest after all your efforts. Do ask us again.
Love from Kate and James Lynch and the Langport Mummers
