Fourth Phenomenal Folkfest Weekend a success

September 7th, 2009

Thank you to the many emailers, phonecallers and passers-by who have congratulated us on the best Folkfest ever. We are feeling a little jaded this morning (Mon. 7th Sept.) yet still buzzing from the adrenalin that fuelled the committee through what is an incredibly demanding schedule of events crammed into one weekend. The weather was extremely kind to us enabling a stunning finale to take place at the Folk in the Park event on Sunday. It was great to see people still dancing down the road as they left the event with the jigs and reels of the Dambuskers still ringing in their heads.
Everyone has their own special memories of the Fest, but the magic of the Burnham-on-Sea Folkfest is that no one person can see every act on the Saturday (with 63 musical acts and four dance sides, taking part in seven venues on one day). I’m sure the discussions will go on for weeks as to who you enjoyed the most and who you wished you had seen, so come back next year and see if you cram in even more fun than you had this year, which is always a challenge. We look forward to supplying that challenge to you yet again on Friday 3rd Sept. to Sunday 5th Sept. 2010 for the FIFTH ANNUAL FREE BURNHAM-ON-SEA’s FOLKFEST. We hope to see you then.

Congratulations on a venue that gets better each year.
I am exhausted after the Pub to Pub event crawl on Saturday, after what can only be said as brilliant. Sorry for no photos on the latter part of the day lol.

The Sunday even got me up doing a jig with the Dambuskers and enjoying the fun.

Hope you enjoy this years photos.

    All the best Folkfest team
