MASSIVE THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR THE BEST EVER FOLKFEST

September 1st, 2008

Words escape me at the moment, though the haze of this Monday morning after the Folkfest, to describe the feeling of elation and relief of pulling off another amazing weekend of quality FREE music in Burnham-on-Sea. The whole committee and a band of energetic helpers deserve your thanks for producing a spectacular event, and we would like to thank all the bands, acts, dancers, street entertainers and festival participants for making it all so enjoyable. We will try and get a photo gallery up on the site as quickly as possible, and if you have some good pictures then please email them to us. The fantastic burnham-on-sea.com website have some photos and even a video on their website so check these out for starters

Graham and your team of helpers, a BIG thank you for making the best folk fest yet! From Friday’s opening concert with Dragonsfly in the Ritz to the grand finale in the gardens with the awesome Sheelanagig, the weekend was jammed with footstomping, thigh-slapping fun. None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of Graham and his committee. From Dom, racing between the bands to pay and personally thank them, to Kim, who took on the job of looking after the traders and even involved herself in having to clean up dog poo next to one of the stalls!

This was my 3rd Burn’em Festval, but the first (hope not the last) that my band Broken Road played.
This was the best ever, with some terrific music. I shouldn’t pick any bands out, but I will! Sheelanagig (check out where the name comes from) were out of this world and I always enjoy the FOS Brothers. But I enjoyed everything I saw & heard.
    Congratulations to the organisers.
Hope to be there next year.
